Stunning Vintage Cinnabar Red 14 1/4″ H Chinese vase. This heavily carved vase has 4 scenes around the center in fine detail. Cinnabar lacquer is a labor-intensive and highly skilled art form involving applying numerous layers of cinnabar-pigmented lacquer to an object and then meticulously carving intricate designs into the dried surface. A beautiful hand carved display piece in very good vintage or antique condition. Some lacquer chipped on the edge of the vase(see pics). FYI Lacquer Cinnabar items were not made after 1999.
