Description

Large Antique Oval Ironstone Meat/Fish Platter back stamped. This is a heavy piece serving piece that has a Victorian Arts & Crafts patterned edge in black and gray transferware. Weights a little over 10 lbs. and measures 21 3/4" x 17 1/2". The design of the platter is interesting in that it doesn't sit flat, on purpose. The platter sits on base legs that can be easily tipped towards the liquid holder on the one side. The back mark is a Swan with the name Florence(pattern) and below that B & H. Most likely Beech & Hancock 1860-1876. In good antique condition. Chip on the back side, typical crazing and minor staining.(typical of antique ironstone)
