Description
Vintage 11” Red Wing Bowl sold in 1942 as the “Incised Peasants” pattern. This is a large and heavy piece of pottery-4 lbs.
Unlike most Red Wing hand painted pottery, the peasant figures were cold painted (over the glaze). Because the colors are not sealed under the glaze they are easily removed. After 70-some years many of these pieces have lost a considerable amount of their original paint. There is some paint left on this piece. This would make a nice pasta bowl, fruit bowl, a dish planter, or add to your Red Wing collection.
