Synopsis
A Forbbiden Marriage is a late 19th-century cautionary romance novel set in rural Virginia about a vivacious teen girl who, instead of marrying the quiet, unassuming twenty-something lawyer her wealthy widowed father would have her wed, decides to run off with a charming, handsome neighbor who may not be who he appears to be. Laura Jean Libbey was author of sensational dime novel romances for women. In the course of her career, she completed 82 novels, enough one obituary noted, to fill an impressive five feet of shelf space.
