Vintage Fort Sheridan Sweetheart Pillow Cover in excellent condition. Sweetheart pillows were popular during WWI and II and give as a gift in case a soldier didn’t make it home. Military Army base Fort Sheridan was established in 1887. The base was established to restore order in Chicago after the Haymarket Riots and the Great Chicago Fire. It was named after General Philip Sheridan, a Union Civil War leader who helped restore order after the Chicago Fire. A 17″ x 17″ pillow form fits into this cover. (Pillow insert not included)
