A stunning pair of Antique Chinese Porcelain Headrests. These “pillows” are a beautiful celadon porcelain with lots of crazing. Playful children figurines were a typical theme for these pillows-this pair is of a boy and girl sleeping.

History of Chinese Porcelain Pillows-
Porcelain sleeping pillows gradually fell from use during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). In the 19th century, however, they became a popular collectible.
Many, featuring blue underglaze floral or birds-and-flower motifs, were brick-shaped or rectangular; others were cast as cats or charming children. All featured apertures into wher people could store their money and valuables for safekeeping.
